The thing that uses by far the most battery, after phone calls, is data transfer. When 3G is on it will of course make everything faster but your battery will decrease dramatically, like wise with wifi. I recommend that you turn these settings off unless you are using them and never have them both on at the same time, you will never be using them at the same time anyway.

2. Unless your iPhone are in airplane mode your phone will always be checking for new mail, this is a major battery drainer. iPhone will check for mail at set intervals the more often it checks the more battery it drains. You can set it to check every hour or every 15 minuets, also you can set it to never check and you have to open up the mail app to get it manually, this saving the most battery. Go to settings>Mail ,Contacts, Calendars> Fetch New Data to change these settings. But that method means you never know when you have received a new email, what I personally do is use the application GPush to send me a push notification every time I get an email I then go and manually read the mail. This has saved me massive amount of battery and I know as soon as I get new mail. Alternatives to GPush are Mail notifier and Push Gmail.

3. Something that wont effect your battery that much but does make a difference is how bright your screen is I have my screen brightness set to about 75%, having it set to 100% will drain your battery slightly faster.

4. When you exit out off official apple apps some of them stay open after you have closed them, running in the background. The phone app is always open and cannot be closed because then you wont be able to receive calls the mail app is the same unless you have it set to manually fetch data but even then once it is opened it wont automatically close you have to do it manually, also the iPod and Safari don't close on exit. To force them to close, saving precious battery, hold down the power button when the app is open until the slide to power off appears then hold down the home button for 6 seconds then release, this will force the app to quit and will not be draining battery in the background. If you want your iPod to play in the background don't do this when listening.

5. Finally if your not using your iPhone just put it in airplane mode or turn it off I cannot believe how many people just leave there phone on over night, what is the point your not going to be using it. Also you have got to take into consideration that with an iPhone your going to be using it much more than the average phone because it is so much better.

If you do everything here your iPhone battery life is bound to increase, if you are really desperate then buy a battery pack, in some cases it will double your battery life.

How to take a screenshot of your iphone

<dc:subject>Tips</dc:subject>

This is how to take a screenshot of your iPhone the picture will be saved to your camera roll.
1. If your iPhone is jailbroken and you are going to restore it anyway then I would always recommend restoring in this way, oh yeah when you put iPhone in recovery mode you have to restore it, unless you unplug it and do a hard reboot.

1. Turn your iPhone off

2. Make sure your USB is plugged into your computer but not into the iPhone

3. Hold down the home button on your iPhone.

4. Keep holding down the button while your insert the other end off the USB cable into your iPhone.

5. Continue to hold down the home button until iTunes recognizes it

If you let go of the home button before iTunes recognizes it, even for a milli-second, then iTunes will not recognize it, when your iPhone is in recovery mode it will have one of these pictures displayed on the screen, depending on wether its jailbroken or not. (you can probably guess which one is jailbroken)

How to add a 12th page for apps on your iphone

<dc:subject>Tips</dc:subject>

This is how to add add an extra page of apps to the 11 page limit.
First make sure you have 11 pages of apps completely full, I have only tested this on 3.0 but it will most likely work on 2.x.

1. Make Sure the Voice Memo app is the very last app on the 11th page, it doesn't have to be the voice memo app just any official app but voice memo works better; leave a comment if you really want to know why.

2.
